[vtkusers] displaying slices and 3d model

Hi all
I'm using vtk with VC++ 6.0 and in my application I need:
1. To display a volume of medical images in 3 orientations (coronal, 
saggital, axial)
2. To display the 3d model  reconstructed from the slices
3. To display a slice of the medical image with the 3d model so that the 
slice intersects the 3d model
Is it possible with vtk? Now I have to decide between inventor or vtk
