I don't know of a tutorial, but there is an example in the VTK source:

GtkVtkRenderWindow.py

You may want to grab a nightly or CVS release to get the latest
version. You also need the gtkglarea widget (which is not part of gtk
but can easily be found with google if it's not already on your
system).
