[vtkusers] Yet another newbie question

Hi, 

This is my first mail to the group. I have tried to compile the VTK4.0
official release and have it working. The only problem is that c++ example
binaries close as soon as they open. The tcl examples seem to work fine. I
tried this on multiple operating systems but no luck(Linux, IRIX).

Did anyone have this problem ? Some help over the first hurdle will be
great.

Someone also passed me the old vtk3.2 sources they work fine.
