[vtkusers] GCC problems with IO: "undefined symbol: jpeg_std_error'

hi,

I installed VTK and turned on the Python wrapping. Now when I import 
libvtkIOPython I get an undefined symbol error for jpeg_std_error. Doing a 
'nm' on the .so file gives me a bunch of undefined symbols, mostly starting 
with jpeg_ or png_. It sounds similar to a problem ( 
http://public.kitware.com/pipermail/vtkusers/2002-January/008994.html ) 
someone was having with Borland Builder before, but this is in GCC.

my system is Mandrake 8.1 with GCC version 2.96 and the latest CMake

also, strangely, after the installation I was given 'vtkWrapPython' in the 
/bin directory in the installation directory and in the target directory, 
but no 'vtk'
