[vtkusers] Cmake on Unix

well I have installed CMake on my machine and had no problems

you must try

ccmake
configure and generate through (c) and (g) and

make


my understanding is CMake was designed to generate CMakeCache.txt and 
CMakeLists.txt and once you create those you just call make on them
