[vtkusers] trajectories simplification

Hello,

I would like to simplify some quitely complicated
trajectories (numerous roughly aligned segments, 
could be replaced by one greater) with 2 ways:
(base data is a polydata containing polylines)

- simplification based on lines alignment.
- simplification by keeping 1 of x lines.

Is there some ways to do it easily with VTK ?
