Dear Vladan,

I am trying to use VTK for post processing of 3D FEM for a scalar field
(pressure in a reservoir). Thus far I am doing it by creating a *.vtk file
of the data that I want to visualise and reading it in using a
vtkUnstructuredGridReader. The details of this are given in The VTK User’s
Guide (essential reading) in a TCL example on p.93. I am writing in Visual
C++, but the translation of the TCL script to C++ is straight forward.

I hope that this is of some help.

Regards,

Jim

Subject: FEM-VTK?

Dear James

I have read your post to kitware.. (28/3/02) about FEM visualization.

My question is: What is your field of interest in FEM visualization? I am
also interested in that field but I am an absolutelly beginner in VTK so
your explanation will help me. I have to make pre and post processing in FEM
(3D solid modeling) by means of VTK.

Best regards
