Download all the tcl examples and get them working. Go through 
vtk/graphics/examplestcl or whatever and run all of them one by one. When 
you see some graphics that look like what you want, look at the tcl code 
and see how its been done. There's no better way of getting started than 
playing with as many examples as you can.
