I am using a separate renderer and I tie the cameras together.  I can

>From your image, it seems that the element normals are not all facing the
same direction. Therefore some elements are rendered front-faced and some
back-faced. You might want to try the vtkPolyDataNormals filter to recompute
your surface's normals.

BTW, how did you displayed the axis box at the lower left corner ?

I am trying to control transparency on individual elements by using alpha
values in a lookup table.  I get transparency, but elements that should have
the same transparency are not shown the same.  See the attached image.  Any
thoughts?
