[vtkusers] Problem to compile VTK nightly on RH 7.1

Hi all,
I am compiling the VTK nightly on my Intel box running RedHat 7.1 with gcc 2.96.
And the compiler complained about using "-c" and "-o" at the same time. 
However, this didn't happen when I compiled the VTK on Mandrake 8.0.
Has anyone else encountered this same problem?
Any idea what went wrong here?
