I have written a class doing this, using the algorithm by Saito and
Toriwaki (Pattern Recognition 27, pp. 1151-1565, 1994) which is the
fastest on reasonably small size images (typically up to 256x256x256),
but I wrote it in vtk 2.4 and I need to check how it compiles with vtk
3.1. 

I'll check and let you know tomorrow.
