Question concerning voxelization

Hi,

In short, my question is whether there is any restriction on the polygonal
data input (vtkPolyData) of the vtkVoxelModeller.

Besides, maybe somebody could give me a hint on how to voxelize a triangle
mesh modell, for example a 3ds modell. It appears to me that the 3DSImporter
stores the geometrical data directly in the renderer and can be extracted by
a chain renderer->actor->mapper->polydata. Is there an easier way to get
this data? I supposed that this PolyData can be passed to the input of
VoxelModeller, but unfortunately it does not seem to work. In my opinion the
problem might be, that the input model is not regular, but I am not sure
about it, this is why I asked the above question.
