Rendering problem

Lisa,

I am running vtk31 obtained from Kitware's download site about two weeks
ago.
It is built --with-mesa --with-shared --with-patented --with-contrib
--with-tcl
--with-tkwidget --with-python. I had run into substantial problems
compiling
--with-mesa when using anything newer than mesa-3.0-1beta (posted to
this list
about two weeks ago). Python is 1.5, Tcl and Tk are both 8.0.2. When I
execute
my own tiny C++ program combining the two entities with -g set, the
crash seems
to be initiated somewhere in vtkRaycastCompositeFunction ("this" is 0x0,
which
appears queer to me). Admittedly, my understanding of the source is very
limited at this point ...

Thank You very much for Your efforts.

Sincerely, Arno R. Schleich, MS, MD
