How to have a GUI to allow keyin data

Hi ALL: 

       How to have the VTK script to create a GUI to allow 

       the user keyin some values and then visualize that 

       value? 

       Say, have a dialog to keyin a string called 

       show_string, and have a dialog to keyin the 
       coordinates x and y called string_cx and string_cy 

       then display the show_string in the vis. window at 

       coordinates (string_x, string_y)?
