I believe this indicates that the build does not know where to find your
OpenGL (XGL, Mesa, ...) headers. (I am not soo sure about your linux
problem, but I do think that is the case for the Solaris message) Perhaps
you need to make some changes in user.make?
I am also not sure that VTK supports XGL any longer, and even if it does
you probably don't want to use it. OpenGL is available from Sun at:
http://www.sun.com/software/graphics/OpenGL/
