Contour Filter

Hello,

does anyone know how to create an isosurface from a volume where the
volume scalar values do not exactly match the specified contour values.
In other words, I am trying to extract an isosurface by specifying a
range around a desired contour value. My problem is that my scalar
values do not necessarily satisfy a certain a value condition but rather
lie around it. Therefore when I try to extract an isosurface ,
vtkMarchingCubes or vtkContourFilter does not find appropriate points or
cells. Is there a way to do that in vtk? For vtkMarchingCubes or
vtkContourFilter do the iso-valued cells need to be connected?

Thanks for any help.
