vtkVoxelContoursToSurfaceFilter can do branch?

Hi,

I am new to vtk.  I saw a class vtkVoxelContoursToSurfaceFilter and run
the sample app.  Does it take contours that branches out?  Like for
example a main trunk split into two smaller branches.
