a lightweight java panel for vtk

 Dear VTK Users:

 I am currently trying to use the java version of vtk in a java-based
project.

 The problem is, the vtkPanel used to draw 3D is a  AWT 
 heavy weight object. Therefore it cannot be attached to
 an existing lightweight Swing Component, such as, say, a 
 JInternalFrame ( there are problems with repainting).

Any suggestions?
