java & vtk

Compiling vtk (with the java option) I have the following error message

vtkJavaUtil.cxx:85: thread.h: No existe el fichero o el directorio
vtkJavaUtil.cxx:86: synch.h: No existe el fichero o el directorio
make[1]: *** [vtkJavaUtil.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/disco2/software/vtk/common'
make: *** [build_common] Error 2

The problem is that it can't find the files 'thread.h' and 'synch.h'. I'm
working with redhat 6 and jdk1.1.3 and i cannot find this files neither. I
have one file calls 'threads.h' (instead of thread.h') but nothing such as
'synch.h'
