vtkTIFFWriter

Hi,

Is it possible that the vtkTIFFWriter generates a wrong header...
When I make a tif file with the VTKTIFFWriter I'm not able to display
this image (neither with vtkTIFFReader, xv, display...)
I get always the error message
  "Can not read TIFF directory count..
   Unable to open file (brol.tif)."

And a related question : in  vtkTIFFWriter.cxx is mentioned
    #define	TIFF_VERSION	42
although I cannot find a newer version than libtiff-v3.4beta037.
What version is mentioned here ?
