vtkScalarBarActor problems

[Gala'Vi and Liss @ Mainframe Country]

I'm having an extremely weird problems with the vtkScalarBarActor. I'm
doing slices with texture thresholding and the scalar bar freaks out big
time. It comes up black and the range is completely messed up. Now if you
remove the texture-related code and leave just the extracted plane, then
it's all o'k. Actually it's o'k if you do anything at all, but the
texture thresholding. Now the weird part is that when you do as little as
resize the window maybe by a couple of pixels, the scalar bar becomes
normal and picks up the correct range from the mapper. It is the first
time it comes up it is screwy. Also if you try to change the colormap the
range becomes screwy also, but again if you resize the window everything
becomes normal again. 

Any suggestions will be appreciated, although I probably tried almost
everything there is to try to fix that.
