The newly formed Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine is recruiting programmers for its Computational Science & Engineering Group.  We are exploring the possibility of recruiting around the following profiles:

Profile: Junior programmer (grade 6)
The ideal candidate for this post will hold a degree in Computer Science or a related disciplines.  He/she should have excellent programming and software development skills especially in C++, some knowledge of scientific visualisation (possibly using the VTK toolkit) and the development of large software frameworks (possibly using the Qt framework). 

Profile: Senior programmer (grade 7)
The ideal candidate for this post will hold a degree Computer Science or a related disciplines, and at least five years of documented experience as programmer.  She/he should have excellent programming and software development skills especially in C++, some previous experience with biomedical/computational science or engineering software projects, previous experience in scientific visualisation (possibly using the VTK toolkit) and the development of large software frameworks (possibly using the Qt framework). Familiarity with software architectural design, Python and Java programming languages, SOAP, XML, XML-RPC, and other web standards, and some previous work in high performance computing are also sought.

Profile: Development Group Leader (grade 8)
The ideal candidate for this post will hold a PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related disciplines, and at least five years of documented experience as leader of a software development team.  She/he should have excellent programming and software development skills especially in C++, some previous experience with biomedical/computational science or engineering software projects, previous experience in scientific visualisation (possibly using the VTK toolkit) and the development of large software frameworks (possibly using the Qt framework). Familiarity with software architectural design, Python and Java programming languages, SOAP, XML, XML-RPC, and other web standards, and some previous work in high performance computing are also sought.  In addition he/she should have familiarity with the architectural design of large software projects, agile software engineering methods (such as XP or Scrub), and with software quality assurance methods.

Work place is Sheffield, UK.  All contracts will be initially for one year, but they could be extended indefinitely.
