[vtk-developers] 6.1 release readiness

I will branch 6.1 and push the rc1 tars and vtkpython binaries today or,
perhaps tomorrow.

The important loose ends I see that we are wrangling are summarized here:

We appear to be in pretty good shape and I think all of the remaining
issues can be settled before rc2.
