Hi Kevin,

Is VTK_USE_TK set in the CMakeCache.txt on those machines?
If it is, it is probably being set automatically, but I am curious if
turning it off fixes the problem.

If the vtk executable is being linked to the tk libraries, that will
cause the vtk executable to look for an X11 display.
