[vtk-developers] vtk volume mapper for computing line integrals

Dear forum members,

I would like to use one of the vtk volume mappers (ZSweep) to compute line
integrals of intensity values on unstructured grids. This would essentially
mean that instead of the values obtained from the lighting equation (based
on intensity + opacity) I would like to just take the sum of intensity
values along the rays weighted by the intersection lengths with the cells.

The question is basically if anyone has experience with the existing
implementations (from a development point of view) so that he could give
some hints about the necessary modifications.

Thanks a lot,
Peter
