David,

I believe it is a git hook. I would hope that eventually all vtk
changes will go through gerrit. Even if only to benefit from the robot
builds.

Most itk commits go through gerrit. I have found it to be very useful.
Personally, I think gerrit is the best thing to hit itk since
dashboards.
