[vtk-developers] Scope of VTK and it's potential as a common research language

Folks,

I think we should move on to a answer a subset of the original
question: the scope of VtK.

The present discussion has focussed on licensing and without a mention
of technology. If VTK needs a robust math library (like eigen), then
perhaps we should investigate the candidates.

1) We must define licensing requirements.
2) We must define technical requirements.
3) We must define performance requirements.
4) We must define portability requirements.
5) We must define VTK-compatibility requirements.
6) We must define ... requirements.
