[vtk-developers] Stereoscopic visualization via checkerboard pattern on 3D ready TVs

Hi,

new DLP 3D ready TVs (Samsung, Mitsubishi) require as input a single stream,
in which left and right images are coded via the checkerboard pattern.

 

I wonder if VTK developers are going to invest on this kind of stereoscopic
visualization.

It could be really simple, seeing in VTK there is the class
vtkImageCheckerboard.

It would be nice to have a method SetStereoTypeToCheckerboard() in
vtkRenderWindow.
