Hmm, something doesn't seem quite right with those dates - wasn't it "vl" 
up until the end of 1994? I thought it was just switching to vtk (due to a 
conflict with SGI's video library) when I first started working with it 
(which was December 1994).  Or maybe that was just the draft of the book 
that hadn't been changed yet....?
