Great idea! You too can be a prisoner of quality.

Yo VTK Developers-
I'd like to propose a system of dashboard / VTK quality enforcement, and
I'd like your help.
Ken did a hell of a job hitting people on the head to get the VTK dashboard
green for VTK4.2. Bill Lorensen has done the same thing in the past. Now
its someone else's turn. Therefore I'd like developers to consider taking
three month stints as Dashboard Enforcer. The Enforcer's job is to hit
people with a stick when something goes wrong and shows up on the
dashboard. The Enforcer must monitor the dashboard every day and be willing
to send the email, yell, and otherwise harass people into compliance. And
to back up that mandate, the Enforcer will have the power to turn off CVS
access on one or many people if things get out of hand. (Chairman Mao- "All
power comes out of a barrel of a gun." VTK Will- "All power comes out of
CVS repository control." - but I digress :-)
I propose that the first Enforcer is Prabhu. If Prabhu cannot do it, or
when his tenure runs out, we will need others. Please consider this. It
will look good on your resume ("Software Bouncer - Single-handedly ejected
40 brawling developers during VTK4.4 release cycle")
This may be a precursor to a more formal organizational structure like the
ARB that Ken has suggested.
Comments? Prabhu?
Will
