I'd quite like a way of getting file size and whatnot. When writing file
importers, it'd be useful to be able to update the progress to reflect the
ratio of read/total size. At the moment, my readers use some win32 specific
code to do this and a cmSystemTools like module would be useful.
(environment variables might be useful too)
