It would be a nuisance more than anything else.  Every single
occurence of vtkpython has to be changed to vtk.  No existing
vtkpython code will run and with different people using different
versions of VTK such an incompatible change will definitely cause
*lots* of small but irritating problems.

Even if you do change the name please do provide a vtkpython.py that
provides backward compatibility.
