Thanks...just tried it...Looking at update.xml I see

<UpdateCommand>cvs update -d -P -A -D "2001-09-04 3:00:00 EST"</UpdateCommand>
<UpdateReturnStatus>child process exited abnormally</UpdateReturnStatus>

(it ran in binary vtk dir, not source dir...)

I'll wait a while until you get things running smoothly. (Looks like 
CVSROOT and password need to be in there somewhere and I wouldn't know how 
to arrange that.....)
