[Ves] $ANDROID variable?

Hi All,
trying to compile VES in Linux. got stack on the step:
./configure_ant.sh
line 5: update: command not found

I see line 5 starts with $ANDROID update project ....

but when:
echo $ANDROID in shell
I got nothing (empty string)

What is the expected value for $ANDROID?
