Hi all,

I switched a couple months ago from ParaView to Tomviz to post-treat  
tomo stuff. One of the things I tend to use a lot is the automation of  
properties for animations, for example the position of a slice which  
evolves with "time".

However, this does not seem to be possible in Tomviz yet as only the  
opacity and visibility options are available. (also in the animation  
panel "slice" is referred to as "PassThrough1", I don't know whether  
this is normal or not).

Is this a bug and it may be corrected in the next release? or maybe  
it's intentional and there's a reason I don't get?

Yes, I am not sure of the best way to offer better names in the
animation dialog. It would be nice to improve that.

It isn't intentional, but the pipeline in Tomviz is different to that
in ParaView. We probably need to do some work to improve the available
options, and the general user interface there. We have a new release
planned in early January, I don't think we will have this fixed by
then, but I will take a deeper look at this as the experience isn't
what I would like it to be.

Thanks for your feedback, animation is certainly an area I would like
to improve the user interface for.
