I would suggest to use rtkfdk or too look at the code rtkfdk.cxx
<https://github.com/SimonRit/RTK/blob/master/applications/rtkfdk/rtkfdk.cxx>.
On the command line, you can pass a path and a regular expression
containing bmp (see an example with his files on the Elekta wiki example
<http://wiki.openrtk.org/index.php/RTK/Examples/ElektaReconstruction>). ITK
should be able to handle BMP images but I have never tried.
