The Fontconfig warning is most likely unrelated to the crash.

Try the following:  paraview --mesa-llvm  (that was two dashes at the start of the command)

I am trying to run paraview on rhel 7.3 getting following error, please help.

Fontconfig warning: line 146: blank doesn't take any effect anymore. please remove it from your fonts.conf
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
