[Paraview] Programmable Filter with Multiple Inputs

All,

I'm a little uncertain about Programmable Filters with multiple inputs.   I had been assuming that if I had 2 inputs, then inputs[0] is the input that's higher up in the Pipeline Browser, and inputs[1] is the lower input in the Pipeline Browser, but that does not always seem to be the case.     Is there some way to invoke the PF in such a way that I can know which input will be which?
