[Paraview] Filter to keep points, dropping topology

Ah, I found it. It is the other way around:   vtkPointSet is a subclass
of vtkDataSet.
The former has SetPoints, the latter has not.
So I subclassed my filter class from vtkPointSet instead of vtkDataSet,
and it now it works.
