[Paraview] plot selection over time

Suppose I want to plot a cell variable as a function of time. I can see how to do that with the PlotSelectionOverTime filter. But what I really want to do is the same plot for many cells, all at the same time. Is there an easy way to do that? On the Display tab, PlotSelectionOverTime only allows me to select one cell at a time.
