Just another information  

found out that glxinfo displays the glxinformation of the local
computer ( forgot i was connect with  ssh -X ) si this is not a problem
version 270 and 290  
290,10  is the right version of the driver)

Just some additional Information . 
In the past ( about 2 weeks ago ) the system administrator told me he
had some problems with the graphik card driver. 


/proc/drivers/version says: 
NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module  290.10  Wed Nov 16 17:39:29 PST 2011
on each Display Node . 


glxinfo says : 


OpenGL version string: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 270.41.06
