If I understand your original question correctly, it sounds like you 
want to exaggerate the Z scale with respect to X and Y so that you 
can see your data better.

There are a couple of ways to do that.  The more general way would be 
to apply a Transform filter to your data after it is input, changing 
the scale on the Z axis to be higher than 1.  This has the benefit of 
following through to all future visualizations extracted from that data set.

The second approach is to adjust the Z scale on the Display tab for 
every visualization you produce, again adjusting the Z axis scale to 
be larger than 1.
