Berk,
I was able to get this procedure to work. However is there a way to save out the x3d or even a vrml that contains an animated geometry ie an animated (transient) isosurface?

Also I found an interesting tool call pdf3d its at www.pdf3d.com

They have a plugin for paraview that will write it straight to a pdf that you can import into a powerpoint using the free LiveWeb plugin skp.mvps.org/liveweb.html ( http://www.skp.mvps.org/liveweb.html )

Thanks,
Terry

Related to the latter case (3D scene with static content), I had good
luck with converting an X3D scene exported from ParaView into U3D
using Meshlab (http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/) and then embedding U3D
into a PDF document. Something similar should be doable with
Powerpoint I'd think.
