[Paraview] dynamically rescaling the color map

If it's at all possible, I highly recommend not using the "Grow every timestep" option if at all possible. Rescaling the color map dynamically as the scalar evolves yields quite misleading visualization even when you are aware it is happening and show how the range changes. I would instead set the range to some constant and use some non-linear scaling (like log scaling) to show details in particular ranges.

Go to Edit | Settings. In the "General" settings page, there's an
option for "Rescale Data Range Mode". Choose "Grow every timestep".
That should update the range is the scalar range grows beyond the
current LUT range.
