[Paraview] XDMF and HDF5 : data corruption ?

Hi,
I am trying to read the content of an HDF5 file via XDMF with
Paraview 3.8.1 on OS X 10.5 (PPC), but I get either very large or very
small numbers being read into Paraview, it seems the data are just
uninitialized memory.
Any advice ?
