[Paraview] Saving Views

Hi Burlen,

Thanks for your reply.  I think I've sorted things out now based on your
reply.  First of all, I wasn't aware of a new version (I was using
v3.8.0) and so I've downloaded that.  I don't think that was the problem
though.

I've been playing around with the saving of the camera settings and have
now found that it works fine so long as I have the 'Use Parallel
Projection' turned off in the View Settings.  I can save a view, exit
and read in the same or a different case and it all works fine.

If I save a view when 'Use Parallel Projection' is turned on and then
exit, re-read etc then the camera settings do not work and whilst the
re-loaded view is correctly orientated, the zoom is all wrong.  Turning
'Use Parallel Projection' on and off does not fix this.

My platform is AMD 64bit running openSuse 11.1 but I get the same
problem on Windows 32bit.  I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it just
hasn't been coded to work with parallel projection.

It could be a bug but... I am unable to reproduce it myself using pv
3.8.1. If it's not a bug then it could be confusion of how this feature
works. just to verify could you try the following:

1) start pv
2) make a cone source with the default values
3) change the view noticeably: rotate, shift, move out, etc, etc ...
4) from the camera dialog, save the camera config
5) close pv
6) start a new pv
7) make a cone source
8) from the camera dialog, load the camera config you saved in step 4

I have just done these steps on my workstation with PV 3.8.1 and the
view was restored with no problem. If you still experience the problem
using the above steps you should file a bug report on
http://www.paraview.org/Bug with details about your platform and steps
to reproduce the situation.
