[Paraview] solid color in anumation

Dear Paraview users,

I am making a simple animation of a scalar field in 2D.
i have a set of vtu files with increasing numbering that represent
subsequent timesteps.
i can animate this without a problem however there is a slight
inconvenience.
each new timestep is visualized as a solid color surface. is there a way to
set the visualization properties for all timesteps at once?
or is there a threshold value i can set at which the visualization switches
from solid color to color by scalar?

i am running ParaView-3.8.1-Linux-x86_64
