[Paraview] ParaView in multicore machine

Dear all,

I have 8-core machine with CentOS 5. I am trying to install CVS
version fo ParaView with following cmake variables

BUILD_SHARED_LIBS                 ON
PARAVIEW_USE_MPI                  ON
PARAVIEW_ENABLE_PYTHON    ON

During make I get the following error:

/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libpython2.6.a(abstract.o): relocation
R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a
shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libpython2.6.a: could not read symbols: Bad value


I have python-2.6.4 ad qt-4.6.2.

Any help/suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
