[Paraview] error message: The data array in the element may be too short

Dear Paraview developers and users,

I am getting this error when I tried to open up a .vtu file:

ERROR: In
/Users/kitware/ParaViewReleases/ParaView-3.6/ParaView3/VTK/IO/vtkXMLUnstructuredDataReader.cxx,
line 522
vtkXMLUnstructuredGridReader (0x1df060e0): Cannot read points array from
Points in piece 0.  The data array in the element may be too short.

The file is quite small. It comes from a mesh with more than one zone, and
this is one of the zones, since I wanted to isolate the various regions... I
checked that the file format is correct. What can be a possible reason for
this error and how can I fix it?
