[Paraview] User arguments & the programmable filter

Hi Pat,
So it is only possible to do this by wrapping the programmable filter in a
C++ plugin, which will then allow you to create a new GUI interface? The
reason I ask is that I am currently trying to find the limitations of using
the programmable filter to quickly test out new ideas for plugins. So far it
has been very useful, although I've still not found any examples using the
Request Information box.
I'd be interested in seeing an example if you have time.

Hi Adriano,
It is possible to do this so that the user does not have to write/modify any
code, but it requires that you write a plugin. Let me know if you're
interested, I have some example of doing that I can send to you. There is
one outstanding bug, once it is fixed I plan to post the information to the
paraview wiki.

Dear All,
Is it possible to pass user arguments into the programmable filter without
having to manually edit the code? For example, I have a simple file writer
and the user must define the filename to write to. Rather than having to
copy and paste the code and manually enter a new filename each time, is it
possible to turn this into a custom filter which gives the user the option
of entering a filename to write to?
Regards,
Adriano
